I think the XK would last forever as long as Jaguar didn't use cheap parts under the hood. It's the best car and investment i ever had and developed a bond with it like a man can with a transformer if they existed.I'm never selling my XKR for loving this machine so much.I don't see any car that could be better than an XK unless you going to move on to a C8 corvette,McLaren, ferrari or just by upgrading to an Aston Martin.Cars with those kind of looks are the only cars i tolerate to be able to move on from an XK.

Good luck!
I know personally I find the aftermarket support gets BETTER when cars get a little older since there’s more interest once they’re out of the dealer pipeline. Plus we’re getting to where cars can become worth more as parts then as a whole if the car is neglected in some way, and they’re more easily totaled. Then you have better used part support too.
Tell us what you get! I’m likely getting rid of my 00 XKR (owned 12 years) and 08 GranTurismo for an Aston Martin DB9. I’m curious every time I can speak to Aston owners and often that’s what XK people consider as a replacement or alternative. I’m keeping my 07 XKR though since it’s a great car.

I'm the mirror image of the OP. 4 Porsche 911s in a row until I sold the last one and wondered what was I thinking when I was going to spend close to $100K for a 10-year-old car with 400+HP? I looked at AM, nope, dealers are too far away. Maserati, nope, they all have the sticky button issues, and since we've had Jags I started looking at XKs and found 420HP for 1/4 of the price of a Porsche. The 600 mile drive home was a breeze, and the car was straight, tight, and fun.
3 weeks later, everything I wanted to do to the car has been done, so it's ready to simply enjoy. They might bury me in this car!!

Like others have stated, I will keep my 2010 XKR until I'm gone. For the past 9 1/2 years it has been the best automobile I've ever owned and done everything I've ever asked of it. It's been tracked dozens of times, it's my daily driver, and for cryin' out loud, it's now got 200,000 miles on it. Pulleyed and tuned and supremely reliable, can you even begin to imagine an Aston Martin or a Maserati (both with less performance than my 600hp XKR) being daily driven at 200,000 miles. Obviously not, because there's probably never been an example of either marque that's done that! I've told many people and friends on many occasions, that I could easily if reluctantly sell my gorgeous De Tomaso Pantera, but I will never get rid of the XKR, it has been such a wonderful experience owning. Good luck in your new automobile.

...and buying a 2012+ since the styling is sleeker and more modern. Of course my doing that would necessitate redoing a few things, like another X-pipe (or swapping existing parts around), moving my Android Box so to have all the happy stuff that displays on the TSD, and install the -S tune and Max Vehicle Speed changes again. Rear View camera included already in the '12+! It sort of difficult to find one with ACC though, and I'd much prefer that option.

Cee Jay,
I have thought about that as well. We just shouldn't have waited so long as even 2010 models are $15-20,000 more than they were at the beginning of the Covid pandemic. When I started looking at adding another 5.0L XKR as an eventual replacement of my high mileage one, prices were in the low to mid $20Ks. Now they're mid $30k-40,000

My XKR with 90K miles looks new, inside and outside. I paid $18,300 three weeks ago. Since then all new rear suspension, new rear pads/rotors, new NAV DVD, windshield chip fixed and an alignment to secure the suspension fixes....all told, maybe $1,000. Tag and title registration put me around $20,000, all in. I'd sold a 911, same MY, for $60,000.
The XKR has more refinement, more HP, better road comfort than the 911. Granted, everybody looks at a 911, but our cars get the same looks, I think. We are GTs and weigh more, so only by adding HP will be equal a twin turbo's speed, but we're close already.
Question is, did I overpay compared to 2 years ago? What was a nice XKR selling for back then?

I'm KIND of on that same track, but for the last few weeks I've been looking at selling my 2010.....
