What I see is that the fresh water had a bit of salt in it...hope I'm wrong but that corrosion looks salty. I worked on a few water damaged cars in Houston years ago.

Yeah.. the next issue was no one tried to dry it in the least, when I pulled the carpet...it still had water in the foam. Same with the carfboard/foam sound deadner. It was serviced Sept 16 2022 and totalled on the 28th. Was in the sun w/doors closed so it had its own little sauna going. Good thing it's aluminum. Engine bay is exceptionally clean considering. Luckily it could hold water for days like the interior could. Once the water level dropped it dried nicely and must have been on a bit of a nose up incline.

I sure hope you didn't pay over a few grand for that thing.

Default Modules...modules...modules

I already have a ton of new/used modules...and hopefully a workable central harness.. seats were a bit of an issue to get out and they have 4 motors each that will need attention. Not to mention the control module for them which I have.

Cleaned the junction box... now just 4 million other things to clean/replace lol

Also since a few of you are reading this.. if you have some x150 spare stuff...let me know as I may need it. So door harnesses.... seat motors and harnesses... maybe bumper harnesses etc. I don't have a lot of modules left to buy (I hope) keyless entry module and maybe the one on the side of the heater box. So let me know if you have excess you are looking to move. Thanks again.

I think mechanically I can make it work. I am.a bit more concerned with making all the modules work as some of them need to be "mated" to the car. But we will see how bad I can mess stuff up with SDD

Most definitely looks like salt. Plenty of youtube videos with water damage repairs.

You've got only 2 choices, if you want it as Jag intended, gut it and replace EVERYTHING with new. If you want a race car, gut it and replace EVERYTHING with race parts. The later would be more fun, likely less costly and easier to do.

I am trying to find either a standalone ecu/trans controller.... and maybe a rear end controller. I would love to lighten it and race it but with the Jag stuff. It is relatively simple to make a lot of HP with these engines. My XFR (which I'm about to drive in just a minute lol) made 591.5 hp to the rear wheels. I then had the S/C ported and data and dragy shows a significant increase in power. But I haven't gotten it back to the dyno yet. Tuner says at making at least 50 more hp. So I can make the XKR powerful. But need the units to control those 3 things. Engine tranny and rear end. Rear seems like biggest challenge. Hate to retrofit something.
Also to get that kinda hp.from an LS swap isnt gonna be cheap either. Suspension I would just put Bilsteins on it and delete all unnecessary modules etc

.

A stand alone ECU's only going to work on a race car. You certainly can keep the Jag drivetrain. Motec can make you one and Swallows Racing have done also.

Maybe... so far I'm under budget lol. If course I can't pay myself hourly to work on it.... that would break the bank lol. But it's a challenge to piddle with.

Tough job. Bit, kudos for taking a shot at it.

All the electronics modules look coated in salt -- I don't think that's a fresh water flood.

I agree that it's a track car. Could be a fun one.

I'm going ro check with some of the above mentioned shops/companies that can maybe do the drivetrain management. Then I will heavily consider a street/track ride.

If you don't have all the modules hooked up and working, then your Track Car will have zero Jaguar stuff working on the interior. No sound, climate, probably not the dash and definitely no Nav. No seat heat, cool, pretty much absolute 1940s mechanical nothing cool. I'll wager you won't have lights or signals either.

I

If I decide to lighten and make mostly a track car, i wont worry about any of that stuff, just the windows, door locks, and Im pretty certain I can wire the heat and air to function, but most likely no automatic temeprature control.
The lights can be made.to.work, but not the moving headlight option. Just fixed. If I don't run Into more issues and the central harness I have works then I'll most likely just redo it. I have the bulk of all controllers and modules new or used. It will be a labor of love either way.

Totaled on Sept 28th? From Florida? Did it come from the Sarasota area? I’m guessing this car went through hurricane Ian, in which case it’s definitely got some salt damage.

It was from Naples. And their "Freshwater" at best is brackish water. But at this rate if it works in my favor it will have new wiring and fuse boxes along with a stack of modules I have to replace the damaged ones with. So time will tell.

Regardless of what you decide to do with it, I’m certain everyone here will be reading this with great interest.
