Default CATS fault

Got a jaguar xk x150
with a CATS issue on the dash board
also had a hand brake module issue that was resolved with a new module due to internal failure
in the adaptive damping control module I’ve got codes
c110c-1d
c110d-1d
c110e-1d
c110f-1d
so basically all the damper solenoid codes are showing
would this be pointing towards a module based issue like the hand brake or could all the solenoids given out at once ?

Default Update

Found the CATS module behind the rear bench behind the drivers side roll over protection air bag
Removed the module to check the connector
connector seems ok
split the module case off to find signs of water ingress inside
cleaned off with some electrical contact cleaner and a took brush to remove all greening
then heated it to help rejoin any broken solder connections inside
cleaned the mounting faces of the board inside the case as suspect these may be the grounds for the board and put back together
unfortunately after clearing the codes the fault remains present so I’m going to suspect it’s a module failure and order a replacement one online

Default Can I reprogram / do I need to reprogram a new module

I can’t get a new module from jaguar as have discontinued it so will be looking into used modules are these plug and play or require programming or aren’t they interchangeable

Hey there and welcome. Please take time to introduce yourself on the new members page. Take some time to add your make and Model year to your signature so it's easier to help you. Rather than swap out parts, consider checking the voltage readings coming out of the module.

The codes can been seen if you have an OBD code reader.

Thanks Richard

I do have an OBD reader I don't get any codes like that at all literally the only thing I get is a cat system fault on the dash after I start driving.

And obviously it's very stiff suspension.

A tree branch fell in the back window of this car while it was in storage A few years ago everything inside got wet... It's been completely dried out and fixed, it runs great but this one issue has been a pain in my butt .. I'm currently restoring and refurbishing the entire inside and I'm wanting to fix this problem at the same time.

It's possible that your reader can only read engine related codes. Not all readers can read the other modules.

Certainly and as Richard points out, you'll need a different code reader. I have used the Autel AP200 (Amazon - about $65) and it reads all Jaguar codes from their app on your phone, including live data. It will read the voltage and identify the culprit. Also the CATS Module is in the AUX junction box. Consider getting the Autel and get back to us on what you're seeing:-) Cheers

Thank you guys very much when I get back from work (I work out of state) I'll get me that code reader and see what I can do.

That would be nice to finally figure this problem out One other question... you say it's in the aux junction box ...Can you be more specific and where that's at? What am I actually looking for? The more details the better. Thx

This is a 2007 Jaguar XK convertible.
