Here’s how I do it...
1. Move gear shift to “D” so there’s room to remove the entertainment center.
2. Cover the console with a towel to protect it.
3. Use a trim removal tool to remove the trim around the entertainment center.
4. Remove 6 torx screws that secure the entertainment center and slide it out.
5. Remove 2 torx screws holding the center vent.

Thanks Graham. The louvers are white plastic painted black. Several of my louvers have almost no paint and looks poor. Bought a used OEM vent set to swap out louvers.

BTW, what year is your ride? Can be helpful for others having a similar request.

well try just the two smaller tori screws below the vent first once you remove the trim piece. I dunno about others, but I don't need to remove the other 6 bolts to pull out the center vent. So maybe the PO of my car did something backwards?

According to the Workshop Manual, the Torx screws may not be fitted:

A useful exercise - I never knew the Vents are called Registers in Jaguar-speak.

Oh yeh, I’d forgotten about that term. Used it all the time while I was growing up to refer to the hot and cold air ‘registers’ in the house for the furnace. Thanks for that reminder!
