I have many various manufacturers wax products. Some are quite durable; some are quite good at bringing out a deep shine, those are typically less durable.

At this stage on my Jaguar journey I no longer am concerned with the actual or hyped durability of ‘waxes’ or ‘ceramic coatings’.

As I previously mentioned my car gets washed (by hand) several times a week and I typically spritz the top surfaces with turtle wax hybrid solutions once a week, the sides once every 2 weeks.

This coating is super easy to apply and remove, almost like drying the car with a soft towel. No concern of getting it on black trim or glass and leaving a stain.

One very important factor not mentioned in this thread, static charge.

The twhs is anti-static; I can apply it to one side of the hood and ‘wax’ the other side (pastes waxes, mequires liquid waxes, and others). Inspecting the hood a bit later on one side will have attracted dust the other not so. Take a blower to the hood and one side still has dust while the other side is clear of it.

Last year I had just finished washing/coating and drove to dinner while we had a ‘dust front’ comes in from northern-Mexico. The air was dirty, not too good for the lungs or keeping a car clean. I parked the car in the attached lot, the Jag was sparkling with a bit of dust, and the other shiny cars in the lot had a very heavy layer of dust stuck to them.

Just sayin’

Loving all the feedback and various strategies/products.

Started building the shopping list in my Amazon cart.
Orbital (buddy insists on Griot’s Garage but triple the price); pressure washer w/nozzles and foam cannon; Clay bar kit; pH neutral foam; Kit w/brushes, mitts etc; then… all the cleaners/wax products (added the diff brands suggested for variance of costs).
Range is $450-$700 startup as I have none of it.

The thought of just hand washing with good soap and spraying some turtle wax hp on it sounds lovely.

Reminder to readers: I drive maybe 50m a week at most, usually <20 and she lives in the garage.

That just means whatever yo do will last longer. @ 50 miles a week PPF would be a waste for me. We have two car washes near me, one DIY and one standard. Both offer spotless rinse and the standard one offers touch free as well. If you have a DIY car wash that offers spot free rinse, save $ using that instead of pressure wash, foam cannon etc. I have all those tools. Used them a couple time. DIY car wash is easier for me and I leave the mess behind. I use my own mitt though, followed by a California squeegee, then waffle towels, etc.

Quickly googles California squeegee.
Adds to cart next to Chemical Guys mammoth towel.

I think we’re building a plan here, boys!

Rethink that mammoth towel and how easy it will be to hit the ground while you're drying the lower half. PIA. Plush smaller towels work better imo. Waffle towel dragged over the top after squeegee works fantastic.
