Default Classy shift disk ungrade!

Got this chrome growler on piano black shift disk replacement from britishautowood for $37.90 shipped. Need to pry off silver disk, just glued on but mine wasn't easy, had to drill small hole in middle then grab with needlenose pliers to pull off. Actually a little safer to drill hole as you don't risk scratching edge of shifter. I think it looks great, instant increase in class! Saul at british autowood has variety of styles. Highly recommend.

Looks great, I think I'll order one as well. Adds a bit of tradition.

there is about a 2mm play in the dial, the pix is just slightly off but straightens up by just tweaking it to the right. the growler will be rotated when driving. I agree that jag factory should have made this standard in an $80k+ car. Your tough!

could you just put the new one over top of the existing one by just gluing it? It really looks great and I would like to do it. Do not like the drilling part.

Yes you could just stick it on top, it comes with 3M tape attached to back but it looks better sitting down in it. Agree that it was a little nerve rattling drilling a small hole in the middle of the disk, there is a resessed screw with a gap around it in the middle, british autowood sends a picture of it when you receive the new disk. It really was not a big deal to drill the small hole until drillbit pops thru the disk, grab the edge of the hole with needle nose pliers or a hemostat if you have one and pull off the disk. I could not pry off the disk from the edge as britishautowood also suggests trying. You won't be disappointed, this thing looks super classy! Good luck

I thought of using monofilement line by moving it back and forth. A car guy told me he has used this method before to take emblems off vehicles.

And heat up the emblem you want to remove with a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the adhesive before using the monofilament line. Just be careful to not use too much heat.

Just ordered a piano black with growler, he had one left. He told me to use an eye glass screw driver to get it started and peel it back. I think once I get the edge up put the mono line in and saw it off. The mono line will heat up the glue and should come off easy. Will update.

You can contact British Autowood, google them for the web site. Saul will make what you want. When I asked about the piano black with the growler he showed me 2 pics of what he made one was like the first poster and the other is black with smaller growler and the Jaguar name on it, I took the one with growler and name.

Got the growler with the jaguar name on it also. Looks great, sorry pics yet. I puy some wd 40 around the shifter and let it sit 30 min. then used small eye glass screw driver and it came off in minutes. Cleaned it off of the glue and stuck the new one on. Great add on.

I knew you would like it! Glad you got the silver disk off so easily, I think they must have used Gorilla glue on mine! Enjoy
