Default Cleaning Small Spots on Suede Headliner

I just noticed a couple of very small spots on the suede headliner of my one-month old 2013 XK coupe. The headliner is a beige/tan color. The spots seem to be dirt on the surface, not ground in. The material looks very susceptible to damage, so I want to tread lightly. Any suggestions on how to clean up the spots?

Terry,
The first thing I would try is an old toothbrush. Make sure it is completely dry, and brush gently to try to remove the spots. If that doesn't work, there are brushes specifically made to clean suede and nubuck. I have one like this that I use for my suede shoes (no, they're not blue), which is available from Amazon.com for $6.99. Brass bristles on one side, plastic bristles on the other.

Here's the link:

If the suede brush doesn't work, you can try a suede bar that is chemically treated to rub off spots. I'd be concerned about this changing the texture or color of your headliner. I have one but have never used it. It came in a kit with my brush. The bar is available on Amazon.com:
Amazon.com: Woodlore 3 Amazon.com: Woodlore 3" Suede Bar And 3" Brush - N/A: Sports & Outdoors

Hope this helps,

Stuart

I use a foam spray interior cleaner call tuff stuff (or something like that). The suede is artificial, so any fabric/interior cleaner in a foam should do the trick. Start off with the least caustic stuff and go from there. Blot over stain.
