Default Clicks and squeeks.

Took her for a drive to a car show today and stopped by the ole Harbor Freight on the way home.

As I am paranoid until she gets the checkup from the Indie shop, I'm always watching the gauges and listening for sounds out of the ordinary.

Drove about 45 mins each way in 95-99 degree heat with the top down (so I can hear better).
50/50 stop and go & moving along at 55 or so.

The good news. The double clamp is still holding. Gladly incurring another burn, I reached down and bone dry.

Things I noticed that I'm curious about:

1) First the first time so far, she got up to 212 degrees coolant temp. I'll attribute it to the heat, but thought I'd mention it. She is usually never above 206 even in traffic.

2) There was a high pitched squeak only a few times in medium stop and go traffic. Very faint, sounded like a brake pad indicator on my other vehicles but can't be sure. I thought I remembered the prev owner replacing them with carbon pads in the last couple years.
When I got close to home, heard it coasting at about 20mph then had to stop. Started going again and it was there but when i tapped the brake it went away. Did not hear it over around 40mph.

3) I thought I'd read here somewhere that when the engine is turned off, then fan usually keeps running for a bit? Never has. No idea.
What I do know is I pulled her into the garage, opened the hood and there is a loud clicking noise as well as some small ones. Tried to pinpoint it, but hard to tell with my old ears. So I grabbed my phone and recorded it. Sounded like it was from both sides.

Is this normal? Definitely a plastic click.

I see those temps in Texas' heat. Typically cruising with 100 degree = 196 +/-, traffic = 206~213. Hotter weather, 110 degrees I've seen up to 220 in traffic. No problems for me.
The clicking sounded like the exhaust manifolds cooling down.

Good to confirm the temps.

With regards to the click, I was hoping it was a common thing and not to worry about.

But I did some digging. Poking around and such.

I noticed the fan never came on after pulling into the garage with a 206F coolant temp, after engine shutoff.
Weird.

So after poking around, I found a test.
I didn't need to but I removed the very front cover that goes under the bonnet for a better view.
Start the car, get it to temp.
(No fan running)
Turn off and push start, no brake. Disconnect coolant temp sensor (gray clip going into brass fitting, going into manifold).
(No fan running)

Next step, F35 80A Radiator fan fuse. (Figures Harbor Freight was out of the multimeter i want)
I'll do a visual inspection with my readers on first, then run to the store.

Well fuggin figures. The 80a:

Gonna guess that ain’t lying around at Autozone.
Nope, checked all local stores. Guess it’s Amazon.

if it isn’t the fuse, next stop,…
Fan control module - ouch.
if not, the fan/motor - super ouch.

Really could use a multimeter right now.

Del.

My dumbarse didn't realize there is a fan blade like cover on the engine side of the fan and the actual blades are inside of that.
The whack on my finger says the fan is working fine.
To force it to come on I turn on ACC (no brake) with A/C on high.
Then start the engine.
Then disconnect the coolant temp sensor.
Sure enough, it comes on.
Going to replace or at least get a coolant temp sensor to have a spare.
