convertible top cleaning

just bought a 2007 xk. looking for cleaning advice. has anyone ever tried baby shampoo to clean a not too dirty top

No, but you are on the right track. I put a lot of plain wally world hand soap in a bucket, add water and work it into the top, with a soft paint brush. Then rinse. The key here is the word, soap!

IMO carwash soap works just as well in my 50 years of owning ragtops...
