Converting XKR from left to right hand drive
Sometimes we just have to let go...

LOL guess we have our answer.
Hi all and a belated thanks for all your suggestions and comments. I've put in a lot of effort into making this car as good as they get, shipping parts from far and wide and eventually getting the finished article MOTed and insured last Oct only to be told I have to start a new job in Iraq. But I guess I arrived at the same conclusion that you guys recommended, I have to sell and move on. It costs around 30k usd all in and I'm sure I won't be able to find a similar example in the NE for that price, I will come and check with youse though when the time comes. These cars hold little to no value in this part of the world were they compete with Toyota Camrys and nissan altimas for market share! They are not appreciated enough and that makes them hard to sell. Thanks again. Aiman
Not a troll at all mate lol, just didn't get no notification of replies to my thread. I have posted few questions in the past about parts and repairs in relation to the same car. Thanks
I have to sell it Bill. Its just not financially viable to take it home and convert it plus my employers don't cover shipping cost anymore. I have to start again in NCL I guess.
Good day, Ali. I can understand your passion for your XKR. You put alot of love and time into rebuilding it; but, the job to convert it to RHD would be overwhelming and frustrating. Congratulations on rebuilding it--you did a great job. Enjoy it the way it is.
You will have a myriad of frustrating problems doing the conversion and after. The conversion would be much more expensive and time consuming to do than the repair you've done to right front corner.

I expect you will find that prices in the UK won't be so much different but you might have to search a while for the ideal one. At least they are not almost all black there like they are in Germany!
In any event, hope you capture the dream...
I understand. I don't know whether your country-hopping line of work will continue indefinitely but your recent experience suggests you should wait until you settle back in the UK to buy a RHD Jaguar XK - or if you're one to seize the day, have a mate scout one out for you now and put it in maintained storage awaiting your return.
In any event, hope you capture the dream...
