Beautiful car in a beautiful setting. We used to go to Yosemite every year before our kids were born and when they were young. Majestic!

The Mrs. and I just took a 2,675 mile trip last week in our XK convertible. Our daughter plays college volleyball, so we watched her play games on Friday/Saturday night, then slid out through the Black Hills, across Wyoming and up through Montana. Did the Beartooth Pass on our way down through the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, into Yellowstone and eventually on down through the Grand Tetons and back home again. We had perfect weather and the car performed flawlessly the entire trip. Can't wait to pick another touring destination for a future road trip in the Jag.

She-who-must-be-obeyed sitting in the Jag (Fort Robinson, NE):

Me by the Jag at a POI overlooking a beautiful valley (Chief Joseph Byway):

Trip Log (yep, pretty much on fumes getting home):

Twas the average for the entire trip, which included a lot of two lane/65 mph travel. Made a few hard runs through the Chief Joseph Byway, but the 'fun suppressor' in the passenger seat was starting to squeak, so I had to back off. We were both very glad we took the convertible vs. her BMW SUV. I remain stunned that my wife managed to pack for a week in a carry-on suitcase plus a soft bag that fit in the back seat. Stunned.

BTW, your Yosemite pics were great. Sorry if I derailed your thread, but thought it would be fun to join in the autumnal trip discussion. We'd like to do Glacier National Park next year. From what I saw of your Yosemite pics, that one's on the list, too!

No worries. Just giving you a hard time. That was a ton of miles, glad the car worked well.
My drive takes about 1.5hrs to get to yosemite, so I just did an evening sprint up to inspiration point and back. I took a video in the car with the gopro, just working on the editing. I have a video driving down the valley in my sti on another trip http://youtu.be/52jf8qfB9rs

I have always used the term "the nag-a-gator" but I like your description better. A little wine will take care of the squeak.

How the hell were you able to do that with no one else around?? Looks like you had the place to yourself! THAT'S impressive.

Was in the the exact stop 2 years ago with the family. Somewhere between San Francisco and Yosemite a Recluse Spider decided to take a bite out of my leg.

Beautiful area! Good to see you're enjoying the Jag. We were it a Nissan Altima rental.
