I love and use JB Weld but I don't think it's the right stuff to try to repair this?
If the plastic collar and O-ring are in good condition it will work fine. At least this is out in the open where you can inspect it if it does leak.

Hard to say on the after market water pump. I do know mine was replaced with the latest factory WP which ends in 3909 about 30K miles ago and have had no problems so far. Yes plastic impellers are common on many brands of water pumps and they do last.

If you watch it you will be a head of the game for sure. You tend to get leaks long before anything major happens and most people won't take the time to check fluids.

does there have to be an o-ring with the plastic as well as the brass?.. I haven't started on the replacement yet and trying to decide whether I'm doing it myself or having the garage switch out the WP.

Greetings everyone,
I'm wondering if I have to place the o-ring over the spout from the oil cooler mounted to the valley inside the manifold because I tried putting the (2) O-ring inside the Oil Cooler Pipe wide mouth end and it’s not a proper fit as it looks warped (too big) inside the pipe… I have 2 o-rings, the other ring fits perfectly in the portion that fits into the back of the WP…

Where it says X2 that seal goes over the tube coming from the cooler. Your Aluminum tube slides over that seal. You should also see another piece of plastic behind that and make sure it's in the proper position too.

I think this picture shows it pretty good.

yes this is exactly what I was referring too... My concern is that I think the oil cooler tube butts up against that o-ring opposed to the ring sealing inside.

Hello everyone.. I was wondering if I will need to replace the gasket on the manifold if I remove to check the crossover pipe as I have read this leak can be disceving and look as if it's a Water Pump leak or the oil cooler pipe... I purchased a new crossover pipe just in case the old one breaks off..
