Default Coolant temp

Hello, since an overheating event I have been monitoring my 2015 XK coolant temp diligently. Yesterday the ambient was 91 F Nd the car hit 223 F, any idea how much higher it could go without head warping and gasket failure?
thanks
Ken

Likely over 250f, but if temps are consistently over 220, something’s wrong either with the pump, fan or you’ve an air bubble somewhere. It important to vacuum fill these cars to be certain no air’s trapped in the circuit.

Very common fault for the thermostat housing to fail internally. Get a new housing and thermostat and change the pump whist it's stripped. Easy job, mornings work.

the temp is monitored via OBDll plug and is all ways on display, normally its between 194 And 204 F, but when ambient is over 85 or close to 90 F the coolant temp is between 215 and 220. Temp always falls a few degree when the car is moving and back up again at the light.

If sitting at idle, temps are going to go up somewhat, that's where the cooling fan comes on and increases speed based on demand then whilst underway, temps should back down within range, even in higher ambient air. The concern will be if temps start climbing underway or if they go beyond the safe range, you should receive a warning if that happens.
