Crash damage help XKR pre facelift
Hi guys,
new user here, have always dreamed of having a jaguar xkr and after a long wait found one crash damaged on auction, it took a front end impact with an animal which had bent some of ten front upper crash bar etc and damaged a bumper and headlight too, I’d appreciate if someone has diagrams or images or what the shell should look like and how all the hoses and parts mount together as a lot of the plastic trims have broken.
it would really help me to build a dream car

There are plenty of online resources for this.
But are you thinking without emotion on this?
Its an aluminium unibody car. If only the nose was cracked I’d go for it… otherwise…

hi there, so the only damage I’ve seen is the upper crash bar is bent and the metal under the housing slightly so I think it’s very minor and therefore just parts and some plastic housings etc. where could I get some of these resources ?

Loves the challenge?
Certainly his choice on how to spend time+ money.

Jag XK/Rs are pretty plentiful however and there is no reason to buy a crashed one for several reasons - parts availability, structural damage that will not be put right and the general feeling of it never being quite right.

I should add I’m in the uk and they’re very rare here
Jaguar XK and XKRs are the cheapest in the planet in the UK, they are plenty around also - why get a crashed one? Makes no sense
Unless you got your early 5.0 for absolutely free, you will lose money and time AND end up with a 'rebuilt' title (or whatever branding) and it'll be worth very little.
BUT if you want to do all this work and spend money just for the fun of it, that's fine. Just don't expect any monetary benefit.

it’s a project I’m doing and again just want diagrams but I seem to get a lot of financial advice, I got it for next to nothing and I have easily 5-6k margin if I wanted to sell as a category car however it’s more a fun project

£25K 2011 Jaguar XKR-S
You can get XKRs for basically peanuts in England now, the market is distorted for quite sometime and not reflective of the vehicles involved

I have seen XKRs for sub £10k, seems alot of work getting a crashed one - if you have time on your hands and indeed its a project I wish you well - for parts I think you need to get on good terms with cotswold automotive as they have a large volume of Jags which have seen better days
you could look at these 2 threads.JEPC
Jpart
JEPC is the jaguar parts catalogue which does provide images of parts in their proximate location on the vehicle or assembly/ subassembly. Jpart is the best viewing application to see JEPC data. See if those work for you.
Hi guys... you beat me to it H9haaris... I was just about to ask if there is an assembly manual out for the XKR specifically 2009 body. I wish to remove my front bumper assembly as the paint is substantially faded. i was hoping there was a manual with exploded views showing how it is attached so that I don't damage anything in trying to remove it.

I hate to be a “Debby Downer”, but…. You will spend 7-8k easily on parts plus all your time/effort putting it all together. I agree with everyone else! You will loose money. Best of luck.
