Default Cruise Control Quit

I was out of town for a few days and left my car with a parking service in Fort Lauderdale.
When I got the car back last night there was a warning showing Cruise Control Unavailable. Anybody else had this issue?

I had that happen on my '05 XK8 and it turned out to be a lower dash push-button stuck closed. I do not remember the exact function of the button but, I think it was related to a speed limiter function.

Common problem.

Start here with Coughs response (post #7)

I took the printout to the dealership yet still have the same issue so I cant swear it is the fix (or that they really did the work for that matter).

But its a good place to start.

Vince, I looked at the link. They're talking about adaptive Cruise Control. That's a different animal than mine.

OK, something different. May be a full system failure if it never references "your signal is blocked" like many of us have seen.

Best of luck, hope others have ideas...

I recall getting this warning when my battery was not 100% healthy and id left the car for some time unused during the winter. A full charge and reset removed the warning. Make sure you always lock the car even if its in a secure garage overnight. This simple habit ensures the car is switched off beside powering the essentials. Im still on the original 07 battery and had it checked out by a battery specialist and although he'd love to sell me a new battery he had to admit it was in great shape. Since always locking the car ive had no electronic gremlins.

I'd have your battey checked out as a starting point.

My 2c

Not sure if it was battery related or not but the next day I started it and the warning was gone. Cruise works fine. I'll wait and see if the problem comes back. might be just one of those temporary gremlins. Thanks to all for advice.
