Does the Jaguar XK 2010 model, require a spoiler , it came factory fitted but im not a fan?

 

It comes factory with a spoiler. It has the 3rd brake light in it which is required in the US. Don't know about the rest of the world so if you don't need it then you can take it off and plug the holes. By the way the radio antenna is in the spoiler.

 

I wouldn't remove it. If you look at the different variants over the years, the higher performance ones get a different spoiler for higher speeds. These go from a larger duckbill spoiler to wing based designs. The original 2005 ALC concept didn't have anything. That tells me that the aero designers deemed the spoiler necessary for safe higher speed travel. No duckbill spoiler and the roof line look very similar to an airplane wing. I never want my car to take flight.

 

Isn't your radio antenna still in the spoiler on that year?

As has been mentioned, the third brake light is fitted in the spoiler. A third brake light is a mandatory requirement in the UK and Europe on all vehicles built after 1998.
