Beautiful day to take the jag into the office for a couple hours.
Get up the parking deck and low and behold, another jag of the x100 flavor.
Had to park next to her.
Fast forward and I’m heading out.
Peeked under her before starting and saw a spot.
pulled out, threw it in park and yeah. Wow. ^— That is a size 13 shoe —^
Thing is, PPI uncovered a very small leak around the expansion tank. Drove home 6hrs then 5hrs over 2 days and she was down maybe 1/2”.
But this is positioned dead center front under where the engine was. Not radiator front. But ahead of midway.
Drive her home soft and lovingly, no noticeable issues.
Back her into the garage, grab the flashlight and take these pics:
I can’t imagine a drip from the expansion tank would travel that far with the amount on the concrete.
But who knows? Edit: It could be dripping down and landing eventually on the under cover which is bowed to center, pooling and dripping out of those holes in the pic. Parking on an inclined parking deck could have leaned it the right way to drain off. Lordie I need to get those jack stands.
Waiting an hour for the engine to cool and will take pics of the coolant level.
Filled it to the max flat spot last night, maybe a tad over. And when I got home just now, there was nothing on the garage floor. So it didn’t leak last night.
Will update in an hour. Update:
While it was still a tad warm, opened the cap and it released a bit of air and the coolant had a bit of steam coming out, coolant is at max. Last Update:
Checked coolant again with engines cooled. It is still a hair above the max marker in the reservoir.
Took advantage of having the cover off to grab pics of the obvious leak: Weird rubber thing that looks like it is cable management. —^ Zoomed in a bit. Hose connection with the issue is quite obvious with orange caked around the clamp. It is over the edge of the under engine cover.
Second thing:
Since I had camera and flashlight in hand, I crawled around and looked underneath.
From the rear, there are these two spots, which the PPI guy assured me were old.
Doesn’t look old to me, but what do I know?
Turning to you guys, the experts on this one as well.

Remember when you were a kid and you picked up a frog and thought, "cool". Then it peed all over you?
Same thing. Be ready. My recently purchased XK was losing coolant the day it was delivered. It's just what they do..
I’ve had multiples of the 4.2 supercharged and the only leaks I’ve ever had were the throttle body hoses, at the throttle body and quite easy to repair.
As Guy said, a pressure tester will quickly pinpoint locate most leaks.
Did you check the color of the puddle under the car, e.g. dip a white tissue in it to see the color?
Sure it was coolant, not condensation from the air conditioning? Or an oil leak?
Couldn’t tell from your photo.

Thats zoomed in, laying on the floor under the rear bumper looking forward.
so the exhaust after the mufflers?

I was actually asking about the color of the puddle next to your size 13’s.
The spot on the exhaust pipe? Likely just normal water in the exhaust. Could be coming out the upstream joint and running to a low point on the pipe. Maybe a pinhole leak in the pipe right there, but these are supposed to be stainless steel pipes, so I wouldn’t expect corrosion.

Ahhh, gotcha.
That puddle looked, smelled and tasted (kidding) like coolant. Very pink.
Picking up the 3T floor pack and 2 stands this afternoon. I’ll get her up on them this evening and remove the engine cover, take a look and see if it’s been pooling there all this time, among other things.
