Anyone knows if XKR or XKR-S has an oil cooler? Or, just transmission cooler?

 

Well, according to my documents, '07-'10 XKR's have them so an educated guess would be yes to all the XKR's.

The XKR actually has twin (left and right) oil coolers. I assume the XKR-S is the same

 

I will certainly bow to those that know, but is there a chance you are mistaking the intercoolers for oil coolers?

Seems odd to have two oil coolers....

I don't know how many oil coolers are on the XKR but, having two is not uncommon for cars. It is much easier to package two smaller ones than a larger one.

 

I think the oil cooler on the 5.0 supercharged is in the center of the engine below the manifold.

 

Have never seen that...but then my history is pretty much older American and Japanese cars, nothing exotic.
I know my truck has two coolers, but one is actually for the transmission.

 

The third generation RX-7 Touring model had a single cooler while the "R" model had dual engine oil coolers by each front side intakes. The dual coolers made all the difference for track duty.

 

The parts guide lists two options for the 4.2L XKR, single oil cooler and twin oil cooler. The workshop manual has a procedure for removing both options but neither explains why there are two options.

The parts manual just shows one oil cooler for the 5.0L.

 

Mine has the dual, fwiw you can see them in the lower grill
