Default Driving weather not far away

Well it is raining here in NY and that means that not only is the snow melting but the salt is being washed off of the roads. We still have piles of snow here but it is melting and I suspect in maybe 3-4 weeks it will be gone. So time to check the air in the tires and pull the cover off of the car. Got to schedule a trip to the dealers to get I think 3 or 4 TSB's done and maybe an oil change. So you guys in the northeast I'll be seeing you soon .

Rain? Snow?? Ice??? Sad face. Here in Northern Utah, home of the 2002 Winter Olympics, it has snowed a total of TWICE this winter; once on Christmas day (really) and once on February 25th. First time the snow stayed for four days, the February snow was gone the next day. This entire winter we've had record breaking warmth and less snow than we need for the reservoirs. On the OTHER hand, there has been only about TEN DAYS that were unsuitable for my XKR. Usually we have snow on the ground from December until late February and temps near zero. Not this year! Bad part, usually I don't have to start mowing the lawn until mid April, this year it'll be next week. Oh well. We also have buds on the trees, another normal mid-April event.

Upper 90's in the San Fernando Valley, yesterday, too hot for my 'vert, so jumped in the coupe. Looking forward to some cooler weather.

"Too Hot"? I didn't know there was such a thing. From May through September my top STAYS down. Gets in the upper 90s around here nearly every Summer day, with some in the 100s. A good hat and the cooled seats and I'm fine.

Truth be told, I have the top down everyday that it's not raining, about 360 days per year, just wanted to "rub it in" a little bit. Hope it actually cools down a little bit before I go to the track next weekend.

84 in Napa today. Bud break on the grape vines. Spring is in 2 weeks. Nothing not to like about Northern California. Tberg is spot on. It takes rain for the top to be up.

Jealous of all you guys in the warmer climates. Still have piles of snow on the ground here in Chicago, but they are rapidly melting. Roads are still salt-covered and dirty. After the first good rain takes care of that, it will be time to take mine out as well.

The XJSC never sees rain, partially because the wipers don't work currently..

The XK8 usually doesn't either, so both cars are only out when the sun is shining.

It is in the 80's here in sunny FL. Unfortunately the XKR is under wraps in our garage in NH. We are heading back at the end of the month, but I'm guessing that it will be the end of April before we can take the car on the road. I wish there was an economical way we could transport the car to FL and back each winter.

Auto Transport to Florida will run you about $800. Rail should be even more economical. If you go down for the entire winter it will be worth it.

Default Spring in the High Sierras

Oh, I know, this is not one of my Jaguars but, still fits with the subject:

Spring today at Caples Lake in the CA, High Sierras.

My brand new Stingray, 8000' elevation, warm 60F sunshine, deserted winding roads for nearly 200 miles... life is good, indeed!

Nice pic. I know the feeling. You're still a Jaguar owner and that's all that is important. It is hard to resist driving the C7. It's is such a fine driving machine. Now you just need to remove the top. I have had mine off over the last few days.

Before I read the text I thought it was a Ferrari California in the picture. Nice picture. Glad to see you're enjoying life and your new ride, Albert! Now send some of that nice weather my way. LOL.

Default OK hit 40* today

Couldn't resist as it hit 40* today and the roads were dry. Temp's going up tomorrow into the 50*'s but rain on the way. I couldn't take it any more so I wanted to get out and fill up the tank and take a little ride. So 45 minutes later and on a full tank I arrived home. A little 25 mile drive at speeds ranging from 40-80mph on local and parkway roads. Top down and steering wheel and seat heater on. Solved the problem of losing heat out of the top of my head with an old ski mask. You should have seen the gas station guys expression when I pulled up to the pump.

Love it. You're classic! Even your full face mask matches the Jag. If only I could find a white mask to wear to take my MB SLK55 AMG out for a spin. The gas station attendant probably thought you were going to rob him. You should have had your golf clubs in the passenger seat area--they would have really thought you lost it. And I thought us canucks were the only crazy ones.

Perfect, but the shipping is $10.00 and the mask cost $6.00. I'll wait and shop local. I never knew Spiderman owned an XKR convertible.

Boy, I had to stop and comment.. Your whip is beautiful. I wish I could take mine out, even though the snow is gone, for the most part and the roads are dry.. We have pot holes here in Philly big enough to swallow your whole front end.. My little girl has been in the garage since Christmas which was the last day I washed her.
