Engine Oil Filter
I have always done my own oil changes in my cars and this is my 1 year anniversary with this 2012 XK. I had the oil change done when I first bought the car and had a timing cover leak repaired and it is now time to change the oil again. I have a genuine Jaguar spin on filter # C2C41611 which is listed as fitting the XK, however from what I have seen it appears the filter that is currently on it is a cartridge style with the cover housing. Part # C2D3670 which is also listed as fitting. Before I order the cartridge style, can someone advise which is correct or if they are somehow interchangeable? It could become clear when I take it off, but I would rather know and have the correct part before taking it off.
it seems strange that both types would be listed, and to be honest, stranger still that the filter is on the top of the engine (first for me). :-)
Thanks,

Thanks,
Totally different and nowhere near interchangeable.
You should check into the 5.0 liter oil change procedure, it's very simple and easy. Only thing, you need a liquid pump of some sort, preferably FOR oil changes.

That's the one.
The exact same filter is used on every AJ133 V8 and AJ126 V6 so shop around for a good quality one going at the best price, it doesn't have to be for an XK it can be for any Jag or RR where those engines were fitted eg XE, XF, XJ, F-Type etc etc. Rock Auto always have a big range to choose from including the top quality ones such as Wix, Mahle and Mann, or else you can look for an OEM filter going on special.

Yeah, I can pick one up at Amazon as well, I just don't understand why several online sources including SNG Barratt list the spin on filter as a match for the 5.0L XK? Damn Interwebs!
Thanks for the clarification.
Thanks for the clarification.
It's coz the early XK X150 had the 4.2 litre V8 and that engine takes the spin on filter.
Don't buy from Amazon: lots of crap and instances of fakes.
A collapsing filter is rare, but not worth a couple of bucks difference. Get Mann or Mahle, or genuine Jag. Avoid nonames or even Fram, etc.
Goodluck.

Avoid Amazon and definitely Ebay. Neither can be fully trusted.
You need to go to a place that sells Euro parts and relys on a good rep, and buy a brand name. There are really good trusted parts houses: RM Euro, FCP European, Rimmer Bros, SNG barret and several Jag specialist houses can be trusted.
Below is FCP, where I've been doing business for 10 years for three BMW's and my XK. Lifetime guarantee. Free shipping over $50. Mahle for $21 is a steal.
Most of these brands are of the highest quality (I don't recognize UFI) , but wherever you get them, get them from a trusted parts house.
