engine warning light
My little orange engine warning sign keeps coming on. I had some guy read the computer and he said it was just a bit low on radiator fluid, and he reset it. The car is running fine, but the light came back on. I don't really feel like going in to the dealer for it....any ideas?
Johney5,
My CEL has come on twice.
The first time the cause was a faulty catalytic converter, which was replaced under the emissions warranty at no cost to me. See this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...e-light-32528/
The second time the cause was a bad thermostat, replaced under warranty. See this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ing-cel-61749/
I recommend diagnosis by your dealer, as many things can cause the CEL to come on.

Check out the range of OBD II readers recommended on this forum. Then you will know the cause and can make a reset yourself, rather than paying each time to have it checked at the dealer. They are cheap (depending on what you choose ) and easy to use.
