Hi,

My sound system has a few problems:

1. When using the SOURCE button on the steering wheel, it will switch between AM, FM Page 1 and FM Page 2, but not switch to Satellite, CD, USB.
2. Satellite is only showing a contact page, and not playing their introduction content.
3. It sounds like the subwoofer isn’t working (the system does not have the rich bass that it had before - just sounds a bit tinny).

I had the source problem before (while it was under warantee) . The dealer apparently swapped some boards out including the satellite receiver as well as doing a software upgrade. Problem went away. The problem is back again. Is this a hardware issue, or does the entertainment system (in the trunk) need a hard reboot?

Well, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, many of our gremlins are due to a low battery. I'd recommend checking the battery and doing a hard reset before doing anything else.

 

I had that Contact Page problem also. What you need to do is go into the boot and remove the Sat Radio controller from the stack of electronics in there. There's a number on the box that needs to be input somewhere for it to work. I can't remember if you can input it yourself or if you need to contact Sirius, but that is where you should start.

You don't sound like a broken record. I had the car in for its oil change in late July. The battery was tested OK by the Jaguar Shop. I do have a CTEK battery charger, which I use during the winter months (when it doesn't drive very much). During the Spring/Summer/Fall, I driver her every other day. Not long though. I'll plug her in and see what happens. I did replace the battery a few years ago (as the low voltage gremlins were popping up).
