Default F-Type R exhaust on a 5.0 XK? Help!

Will the 2015 F-type R rear exhaust fit on a 2010+ 5.0L XK/XKR?

Based on the pictures they look like they are the same!

Please advise, if this will fit up with a little modification i'd be happy.

Thank you

Why?

There is a lot more to the sound of a car than just the exhaust.

head desing, valve timing, fuel/air mapping etc....

I suppose your location makes some of the aftermarket systems expensive for shipping reasons.

Anything will fit with enough modification. I'd spend a lot of time on Google checking and comparing pictures of the exhaust as well as the under body of both cars.

A while back there was a sale ad on Craigslist around Atlanta for a F type exhaust installed on a 5.0 XKR. I think the tips were relocated if memory serves.

Swap out your mid pipe resonators for a X-pipe . The crack and pop from the f type actually come from the factory tune .

Adamesh and spires have these or you could get the xkrs mid pipe x-pipe

Ps photos courtesy of Cambo

1st pic is custom enlarged mid-pipe based on the palmersports racing system
2nd pic is oem 5L xkrs mid pipe

My money would be on a proper XK specific exhaust from one of main players like Quicksilver, Spires, Supersprint, etc...

Why roll the dice when they already figured it out?

Agreed. I had the X-pipe fitted to my XKR, on acceleration it was pretty much identical to the F Type and there is a lot of grumble on overrun but not much of the crackle and pop which comes from fuel being dumped in by the F Type ECU.

But no matter what you do to it, it wont sound the same in an XKR coupe as driving the F Type because in the F Type you are sitting very close to the exhaust and it absolutely overwhelms you from behind your head. In the XKR it sounds wicked from the outside but you dont really get the noise as much inside the car, even with the windows down (those stupid rear windows should wind down too, it is much louder inside if you slide them out).

Thanks for the input guys,

I already have an X-pipe installed and the resonator removed,
looking to take things to the next level, perhaps 200cel cats
might be the better choice?

From my observation of online videos, if you want more volume it is a solid place of attack.

Go for the decats if you can. 200 cell cats are nice too

200 cell cats seemed to be the sweet spot on my 4.2 XKR. Decatting was way too loud and I lost power as well. A tune put some of that back but it seemed to pull strongest once I put the 200 cell cats on.

Is a tune neccessary for 200cel cats to operate properly?

Any recommended brands for 200cel cats?
