Default Fault code remedies

Coming home today she died. Just normal driving about 50 mph and engine quit with no warning and everything else was up and operating normal. Pulled over and pulled codes P1367 and P1368. Engine did not sputter or anything, just quit. Shut car off and restarted and everything was normal for rest of drive home. This did happen previously a few months ago where the engine quit when I was tooling along in traffic at about 75 mph. Pulled over and had NO codes. Shut down and restarted normally and has run great till today. Anybody run across this?

It would be helpful if you let everyone know the year and model (XK/XKR).

Cheers,

Dave

Posting some background info on model and year might help from this end.

Both codes point to a sensor issue but TDS is usually a hall effect type and not something prone to fail. On the other hand though, I would look toward a connector/wireharness as a source for the problem. I'd look through the service manual & try to ID connector locations then cycle them (disconnect/reconnect) in hopes of curing the issue. Intermittant failures are really hard to troubleshoot for sure.

Those codes are both related to the ignition amplifier, group A and B. However I was not able to find repair manual info about how to troubleshoot further.

If you do a search on P1367 across all Jaguar Forums, you will find a few posts about this (regarding other Jaguar models) which might give you an idea about how to approach the troubleshooting.

I've added vehicle details from your post #4 to your original post #1 and put them in your forum Signature so they appear automatically from your next post.

Here is the relevant extract from the Workshop Manual:

No extended codes (00 at the end) defined for either of these.
