Just my suggestion....keep it under 4000 RPM's for 2000-2500 miles.

This is what Porsche does on their new cars. I had to do that with my 2014 Porsche Cayman 981.

Official running-in advice from the manual:
  • Allow the engine to reach operating temperature, before operating at engine speeds over 3,500 rev/min.
  • Vary the speed frequently.
  • From 1,500 km (940 miles) onwards, engine speed and acceleration can be gradually increased.

As Nagarara quoted, its all in the vehicle handbook, which can be found on TOPIx if you have misplaced it.

Make sure its all stated on mileage etc in your service book regarding the engine exchange.

Proper engine break in is..
1)press the button with the car and squiggly lines behind it(traction control)
2) find open empty road. Light em up and go..........

seriously though the best engine break in is no constant rpm for ring seal. But the thing is that most all new tech rings are low tension fast seating. Youre only really concerned with piston ring seating nothing else needs a break in. Most ring manufactures ive used recommend non constant engine speeds and no synthetic till first or second oil change for best ring seal guarantee. But again , todays engines are not like engines of our youth. Or uts depending on location

I have the vehicle handbook....It's in my XKR. I will definitely give it a read before making my way back home.
