The first step is .........
......... to post the question in the right forum.

I've moved it to XK/XKR forum. I recall some members here have already done this badge change.

According to this thread:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-grill-124141/

"... the grille has to come off and the only way to do that is to drop the bumper."

If youre changing from one badge to another epoxy it in place for the center badge this will be fine. if youre replacing or adding the little "R", yeah take off the bumper

Please take a look at my thread "red growler on the grill" updated today. My bodyshop guy unscrewed the center growler on the grill without taking the bumper off. Don't know how he did it but he did it. Had to be from beneath the car.

I added the "R" badge to my sold 2011 175. I mounted the "R" badge on a piece of ridged plastic and used a butterfly screw fastener to attach it to the grille. It worked perfect.

I added the R badge by filling in two of the holes in the grill with epoxy and sticking the badge on.

If you ever go back to the body shop ask him how he did it. I'm sure most would want to know.

Okay I went over to the bodyshop today. They put the car on the lift, removed the splash guard below ( ? 6 clips ) and then was able to get to back of grill and unscrew original growler badge and remove it, said it was tight but did it.
