Default Front passenger side turn signal problem

Hello guys, I have a 2009 XK. The front passenger side turn signal stopped working and I got the message on the dashboard. I replaced the bulb but it did not remedy the problem. I'm asking for any suggestion on how to fix the problem. Have any of you encountered this before?

I suspect a bad ground connection from the right headlamp. See Post #6 in this thread:

Good luck!

Of course you may it ....... but we don't have a button for that. It wore out and we never got round to fixing it.

After a very lenghty disassembly and inspection I have found the culprit. All wires, harness, grounding points were in excellent condition. It wasn't until it occurred to me to switch headlight assemblies that it was clear the headlight assembly is the culprit. This car is well taken care of with only 30k miles and all due maintenance has been done. Before I go spend 2k on a headlight assembly, any other Ideas? I was thinking of using a multi-meter to to check for any broken wires withing the headlight assembly.

There are at least 2 threads in this forum where an owner has encountered bad/missing insulation on wiring inside the headlight. Seems to dissolve over time. They were able to repair them.

As kj07xk said, there have been a few people have issues with the wiring inside the headlights. Have you seen this thread?

After careful inspection and disassembly of headlight housing, I found the potential culprit. The turn signal socket, there is a broken contact within the receptacle. Any ideas where I can find one? JLR doesn’t sell it without the $3400 complete headlight housing.

Fix it with stuff?
I use formable JBWeld putty for hard parts, and contacts can be made from any old copper or brass sheeting.

Should be able to find a cheap broken headlight, since you don't care about the front of it or its appearance. Try the auto breakers, or ebay?
