Default Fuel MPG, Imperial or U.S.?

The fuel computer on my '13 XKR reads either l per 100 km or mile per gallon. On most cars this is based on a U.S. gallon. All pumps are listed as U.S. gallons per hour. What does the Jag computer read in? The manual shows no refference to which measurement.

No idea, but you should be able to figure it out based on the value L/100km, take that number & put it in Google Conversions which shows both US & Imp, then compare to the mpg the car says.

I think you might find that it indicates in US gallons. I'm surprised since the US gallon was never legal measure here or anywhere in the world except the US.

Yes, I just did the conversion, it is U.S. gallons. It seems the U.S. gallon is excepted as the world standard of measurement if gallons are needed. Thanks guys. Maybe we all learned something today.

Only if you live in North America. My UK-spec XJR & Euro-spec X-Type show Imperial gallons. I remember seeing the option to change from one to the other in the IDS diagnostic system.

'Excepted' would be the correct word but I presume you meant 'accepted' and strongly disagree. Cambo351 has it right.
