Good call. Seemed a little sketchy.

It has been 10 years since I had a trusted extended warranty. If they still offer it, you might hunt down Zurich coverage. (I had to go back to my 2009 Audi posts to find the name.) Certainly not a budget name at the time.

However, in the 1.5 years I had my A4, it visited the dealer 8 times (twice on a flatbed!). There was never a discussion or argument. If the dealer said it needed to be fixed, Zurich simply said give us the totals, and here is our card number....
Zurich, as it turned out, was the parent company for many many extended warranty subsidiarys. So being covered above their lesser associates turned out to be very nice.
The dealerships always commented on how easily they worked with them, and dealership repairs were never second guessed.
Oh.... And yes, with my Audi, I did get more than I paid from them!

The Silver
Package was $79 per month with $100 deductible per incident. Engine, Transmission, AC, Alt, Water Pump, Fuel Pump etc....... all covered. I asked the Rep......... after 90'days it goes in effect...... transmission goes out next day, I can can get new transmission and cancel. He says yes. Seems like a very poor plan for them but based on my reasearch, they are the largest. Anyone have Car Shield?
My advice would be to contact your local Jag Dealership and ask for their recommendation. Once you buy a warranty, they, like you, have to sell the insurance company on each repair. They are in the best position to tell you which one they're most successful with.

Here is the skinny.

You are looking to F the S out of a company. (like a roulette player does a house)
That company exists to F the S out of you.

Forum members will tell you about their great experiences with their aftermarket extended service contracts, but few, if any, will tell you about getting ripped off because their claims were denied. That's because they sold "that POS Jaguar" and left the Forum.

As I said earlier, it's a crapshoot. Although occasionally someone will hit the jackpot, the House always wins. Jackpots are a psychological warfare tool the House uses to make losers think that they can win, too. Don't forget that you're the amateur playing against the pro and the odds are against you.

Yep I've posted before. And I'm probably the exception. Just to say, they don't all suck. Just check out my invoice pages. Especially the LAST page. The warranty pays for itself on this visit alone. And I've got five of these...

Here's the advice of consumer advocate Clark Howard:
https://clark.com/cars/extended-car-warranty/

"Never buy an extended auto warranty from a third party. Stick to the manufacturer’s own warranty only."

There is always risk of a big deal, but I would take a deep breath and maybe self insure. If you know your car and you follow the forum on all the XK issues, the platform is pretty solid. It is a good idea to have a really good third party repair guy and not have to rely on the dealer.
Very lucky here in Minneapolis, Mn. that we a world class mechanic that could take any Jag apart and back together without a blink, starting with the old ones, XK100's and up.
