Interesting and fun report. I go with him saying if you want to get one you need to get the 550HP version . I tried the mid V6 model in a roadster and the sound was not there as it is in the V8. If it were just me I would have waited and in a year or two picked up a convert. with the V8 but for the two of us it is to small inside. As for the coupe although it has great looks it just seemed to tight inside for me but I do like the lines. I hope the sales are great .

Fully agree, the V8 is the version to get. I have test driven all 3 variations of the vert and was not particularly impressed with either of the 6s. Also, I found the interior too tight for my 6' frame. As I l looked at the first part of the video where he discusses the interior it reminded me how I felt almost claustrophobic by the closeness of the center console. I just wanted that vertical part of the console further away from me. Funny, because I do not have the same sense of being closed-in when I drive my all-around smaller 3rd gen RX-7. After the test drives, I sat in one of the XKRs on the dealer's lot and felt much more open space around me. Which was the time I decided to get an XKR. No doubt that the F-type is a better driver and performer than the XKR and if I wanted a Jaguar sports car, I would likely chose the F-type R.

As mentioned many times over, the XK is a Grand Tourer and the F Type is a sports car.....thus the cramped feeling in the F Type and the compromising ride and additional room in the XK. I too was totally in love and waiting for the release of the F type Coupe once the F Type vert fist came out, however after hanging around the showrooms and driving an XK as a fluke, it was a done deal after that. I still think the XK is gorgeous and the F Type although very sharp does not look quite as substantial....again all subjective.
