Groaning noise

Default Groaning noise

Hey, guys I have 2007 jaguar xk, its making a groaning noise when starting and running also a coolant leak, could this be from the water pump, please advise trying to do work myself and need a lil advise troubleshooting, please any suggestions

Not likely the water pump as there are other locations far more common on these engines such as expansion tank, throttle body heater hose, etc. Best get a pressure tester and pressurise the circuit when it's cold and you'll see leak locations like a perforated water balloon.

I failed to mention, my belt broke and was idling up and down in neutral, at start ups, could that be a pulley bad or bearings?

Bearings would make noise, could be a frozen tensioner, how old is the belt?

Thanks, Im an ol chevy Man, this my 1st Jaguar new to thier qwerks and werks, I'll look there as well thanks

For coolant leak check the valley of the V8 close to the coolant tank. Sounds as if your belt is toast. The alternator might have seized up.

Thanks,again guys, I pulled the cross member out and took hood off,able to access water pump, definitely the issue wobble and stuck against water pump itself, which caused the belt to break, ordering water pump and thermostat housing ,thermostat as well, thank u all for input this forum is awesome 👌🏾
