Ground Clearance For Steep Ramps
I'm going to take my XKR on a trip involving taking a ferry boat. One thing I noticed when I took my Escalade on the ferry was what appeared to be a very steep ashphalt ramp going up to the boarding ramp. The approach angle worries me as it may hit the front spoiler prior to the wheels starting to raise the front.
The front wheel centers are about 35" behind the forward section where the spoiler is. The spoiler is 6" from the road surface. The ramp appears to be greater than 6" high at a point of about 35" Now one would think the ferry operators would think of approach and departure angles of vehicles. Granted, mine has the Dynamic Pack front lower spoiler as well as it is 10 mm lower than a standard XK.
Anyone experience this type of issue?

Taking a ferry boat to a Croatian island just recently I noticed that the operators had mobile, simple wooden ramps ready for the case you describe.

It would be nice if all of the ferry operators were that accomodating, but I wouldn't hold my breath. That's the problem with super low front ends if you can't get a good angle to go up a ramp.
