Default Handling at speed.

So, I'm out in west Texas at the moment. Long open spaces, good roads, great scenery...life is laid back and good.
My 2008 xk vert has xkr shocks/springs installed and I love the way it handles.
I was under the impression that at 85mph the shocks switch to hard, I don't think so.
My reasoning is that while going through many, many high speed curves (100~120mph) the car was waffling a bit and also rolling outward a bit. Simply putting the car into S flattened the car out, reduced by a huge amount the waffling. The steering also was tighter.
So my observations of course, has anyone else heard or read that the shocks change from soft to hard at a particuparticular speed or combination of factors?

also, the car felt quite good @ 140mph, on a 3 mile straightaway (for the entire length of it)

It’s a combination of factors, with speed being the primary. Here’s info from the service manual:
