Doing my usually nightly jaguar searches and came across this new XKR-S which was on a forecourt in Germany a few years ago. I wonder has the lucky owner still got it. Is there any member with one out there can give some details on what it was like. According to info there was only 200 made all in ultimate black.

Except there's a blue one, special order for a Jag exec - it was at the JEC's 30th anniversary day at Thoresby Hall last year. And I believe there may be a white one, too.

The 2008 R-S is the 4.2 forbear of my 75 5.0 - a better-handling and faster version of the equivalent XKR. Some of the 4.2 R-S hardware found its way onto the 75 (e.g. the Vortex wheels), and eventually onto the 5.0 R-S. I think it was also the genesis of the Speed Pack bodykit.

 

Very nice. Love the Vortex rims.

 

There is 2008 xkrs posted on NY craigslist for sale with 84k miles
The guy claims that there were only 56 made and only 3 exists in US
but the car doesn't look the same as the one posted here

 

That's not a xkrs, it's just an xkr with a xk60 body kit, doesn't look nice, i don't think there is a front splitter on it.

Yeah, there's a host of BS in that ad, which he claims is all about a R-S 'special ordered' from the factory :

• "over 500hp" - not on a stock 4.2 R-S, or any stock-tune 4.2
• "tuned 6 speed trans" - I've never found anyone that can tune the ZF 'boxes, and you certainly can't order one from Jaguar
• "295/20 inch staggerd rims" - what, 295 on the front too?
• "special exhaust system" - not from the factory; they didn't do a special exhaust until the 75
• "built in k40 radar systems with built in jammers(from factory)" - Jaguar would never fit a jammer, though a dealer might
