Headliner!! Grrr..
I have an 07' XKR Coupe with only 29,000 miles and have had since last August. Knock on wood, haven't had any problems with her to date.
Today while driving, I go and put the windows down and the next thing I know is the headliner came undone and is sagging in the middle. Unreal!! I'm young, 32 and only owned a few cars but it has never happened to me before.
So my question to you guys is I'm pretty sure it can't be fixed correct? Number two, does anyone know of any reputable places to get it re-done in the South Florida area and the rough estimate cost is?
Now, I'm thinking about doing something custom (maybe different color)? since it probaly has to be replaced anyways. My car is Indigo blue with the camel interior. Anyone have any good ideas? Thanks for the input.

Headliner
I live in Houston and I bought my 1999 XJ8 Vanden Plas from a dealer in Nashville, TN. Very soon after delivery, the Houston Humidity took its toll, and my headliner came loose. A local company that specializes in Interior work did mine,(Stitches Ltd) and did a fantastic job for $400 incl tax.
I thought that was a reasonable price, as the headliner is one BIG piece of stuff. Anyone who has tried to do-it-themselves can confirm, getting the headliner panel in AND out of the car without damage, is FAR FROM EASY.
This job has to be done right or it looks S***, and spoils the whole look of the car, and if it is NOT right, you cannot take your eyes off it.

well depending on the color of your existing interior id imagine the most expensive parts might be the purchase of new factory color matching sun visors? most interior guys ive interviewed state visors tend to be the most labor intensive part of the job & recommend just buying straight out from factory. just what ive heard. please do correct me if wrong.

Interesting. I just took my 2008 coupe in under warranty to have them reattach the right rear corner of the headliner. Apparently they had to replace some clips.
Worse, I showed them that the veneer panel around the gear lever was rocking on one side and they have had to order a new one. Colour me baffled, I thought there was just a clip gone or a bit of gluing required. I'll get the service guy to give me the old part.

Got the headliner replaced on Monday and I'm very impressed with the work he did. The color matches perfectly with nice clean thorough work. He has a local shop and does all the work himself. All he does is headliners, convt rag top reapirs, custom interiors etc. Took an hr and a half to do the job and for $200.00 I was very happy. He even cleaned my entire interior after with a leather care/cleaner called "Hyde Food" and it looks and smells great.

Headliners quick fix
Hello everyone....New member here who was looking for an answer to my drooping headliner and within an hour or so after trying to use thum pins and also trying to injecting upholstery glue which both either could make a mess or be a little unsightly in my immaculate XK8 i realised that i had some normal sewing pins in a drawer and have at an angle slid them through the liner and then they have penetrated either foam or something inbetween the metal roof....This has done the trick in a matter of minutes at no cost and without this beautiful car loosing its wonderful look.....Try it ....Job Done !!!
