headliner problem

Haven't done a coupe but you need to replace, not repair. Headliner material has foam attached and the foam disintegrates over time.
So do you plan to do it yourself? There are companies that come to you (like glass installers). On the X350 forum, I've read prices as low as $150 for the service.
If DIY, fabric stores carry headliner material. Service manual should cover the procedure.

I used a trimmer cost me approx $130 by memory, however removing the old glue with a plastic scrapper was not fun at all

I had exact same issue on my 2012 XKR-S w/ leather headliner. Took to upholstery shop and discovered that Land Rover and Jaguar both have this issue - especially common in warmer climates. Their shop had several NEW Rover's in for this exact repair. Also happens on Ferrari and Bentley's too.
Its exactly as Sean W stated - the thin foam and adhesive used to attach the leather to the headliner board easily degrades - especially in warmer climates. Upholstery shop said this is a "known issue" ...
So I contacted Jaguar Customer Care (800-452-4827 option 9, Ext. 1309040), explained the issue and asked specifically for "Goodwill Consideration". I sent pictures of the sagging headliner, provided my VIN, etc. A few days later they called back, offered to pay for 25% of the headliner replacement cost - 25% because I've only owned the car less than 4 months. I would, however, HAVE to have it replaced by my local Jag dealer. But, still worth a try to call Jag corporate - particularly if you are a long time owner. Jag corporate stepped up, even for a new owner!
My local dealer, however, wanted $1,600+ to replace the leather headliner... Since I couldn't see replacing it with another faulty OEM piece and risk the same issue again, I opted to have the upholstery shop remove it, strip the foam and adhesive from the leather and reattach with quality adhesive to the headliner board. It looks like new. That was $1,200 but they guarantee their work for as long as I own the car...
** Tip for all ya'll with leather dashes and headliners - be sure to put leather conditioner on them frequently. Leather drys, then tightens, pulls at seams, then splits, etc. Upholstery shop owner swears by this stuff: (https://leathermilk.com/). Works great.
Good Luck!

I asked about reusing the existing material and he didn't want to do that in spite of the fact we were having difficult sourcing a color/material match from various vendors. Keep us posted on your opinion of the results.

My 2011 coupe's headliner (oyster/ivory) used the 'canvas' light beige material which was very difficult to replicate. The upholsterer I used ended up recovering the headliner and all the adjacent panels like A pillars, back frame, etc. Total job was $400.

Took the car in for headliner repair at Palm Park Auto Upholstery in West Palm Beach Tuesday. Got it back the same day and it's perfect! Not exactly sure of the process but they used the original alcantara and re-glued it. The guy there told me it should last as long as the original did. My $275 gamble paid off! If you're in South Florida and have this issue, call the folks at Palm Park!

The headliner went kaput on two seperate '07 XK's I've owned. I removed them myself and reinstalled them myself. I took the headliners to a local auto upholstery shop and they had it ready the next workday. Around $100 bucks give or take five bucks.....Ft Worth, Texas.
Only problem with the re-installation was I put the left visor on the right side of the car and vice versa. That resulted in a drooping sun visor. Note; either visor will fit on either side of the car.
