Default Headliner trim

Good Morning Chaps,
Members on his forum have been very kind and helped me with various problems with my 2009 XK coupe and I'm hoping there is someone who can shed some light on the Rear pillar trim removal I'd like to have recovered.

I'm planning on having my headliner recovered and have worked out how to remove it from the car along with the front A pillar and side trim above the doors. The rear trim pulls down from the end in the cabin and I can see there is a torx screw at the other end underneath the ledge that enters the boot but that's where I get stuck. The parcel shelf seems fixed and I can see no way to remove it

Do I need to remove the rear seats to get to any other screws?

Any help would be very much appreciated especially to any link that shows a photo of attachment points. Thanks so much for reading this.

No screws other than the sun visors and the hanger hooks. The A, B and C pillar covers and held in place with clips and must be removed first. There is only one clip on the headliner at the rear center.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my question. If I remove the coat hanger screw and pull the front down to release from the clips will the trim just pull away? It seems like the parcel tray.rear seat panels and plastic side panels are keeping it secured. I've downloaded the manual but even that is not showing the exact method.

Post some pics if you can. I'm sure I will have to do this at some point on my XKR also.

What material are you using to replace the headliner? I'm currently doing it on my Cherokee. Went with a nice leather diamond pastern. Its got the OEM type foam on the other side, so it feels great and sticks well with some glue spray.

The sun visors are held into place with screws and must be removed. Also the upper console will need to be removed but no screws there, just clips. Once those parts have been removed the pillar cover will unclip, I did not have to remove the parcel shelf but the C pillar cover does take some finesse to maneuver out around it.

That's so nice of you to help me with my headliner. From what I understand from your description I just need to remove the screws holding the coat-hanger, unclip the top section of the pillar cover and wriggle it out gently from around the parcel shelf and plastic sides that hold the speakers? I have spent hours trying to find the method online and in the jag x150 manual but had no luck.

That is correct although I seem to recall there is a backside clip at the forward end that must be unsnapped with not too much effort. If you don’t already have a set you owe it to yourself to get some
nylon and other trim removal tools. Inexpensive and save you time
and damage
