Default Help 07 XKR stalling issues

My wife was driving yesterday and had to stop at a junction and wait on traffic before turning, as she came to a stop the car died. She then had to restart and it drove perfect. Later that evening she drove to the local shopping centre. When she went to start the car it started and then died again, done this twice, then she got it going again. When going there seems to be no issues. Today i went for a drive and when i came to a junction it stopped on me. Started straight away. Went to my local fuel station and did the stall issue again after starting, went again after second start and then drove fine. There is an engine management light that come on with the P01010 MAF sensor code, which has been on and off for a while. I have fitted 2 new Maf sensors and new jag fiters, no leaks in air boxes or pipes, always good fuel from reputable dealer, I was thinking maybe it's the throttle body, any ideas, it has been with the dealer twice but we can't seem to get the fault solved.

So you've changed the sensors, changed the filters, fixed the leaking intake tracts, right? According to the workshop manual, that leaves two possibilities - faulty MAF sensor wiring or a leak in the PCV/breather system.

yes 8bit have checked what you said, as for wiring it has not been checked. Problem is where do i start. I love this car, the way it drives and looks but this issue is really getting me down. My previous xk8 that i had for 6 years never missed a beat, which had me spoiled i think. Would love to get this sored but it seems to be beating me. Forgot to mention it has a very irratic idle from time to time when parked, but it has new plugs fitted so don't know.

That could be a vacuum/boost leak, or possibly also bad MAF readings causing that. I'd suggest finding a garage who are accustomed to dealing with high performance and/or modified cars, they will be used to tracing these sorts of issues. Your main dealer will just want to keep changing parts based on fault codes until they've tried everything, then give up and say they can't fix it.

Basically you want to check all the pipes and hoses in the PCV (positive crank-case ventilation) system, as well as all vacuum lines you find running off the intake manifolds. As for the wiring, that should just be a case of checking the resistance in the wiring to each MAF sensor. I've no idea what the correct values should be though but a dealer should.
