Default Help with missing outside mirror part

I have discovered a missing part (a cover of sorts on bottom side of drivers (L) outside mirror). Do you know if that is a stand alone part? Part #? Or is it only sourced as part of whole mirror body? Poor pic resolution but I show the void where the missing piece is in one pic and then how it should be (from my passenger mirror) in the other.

Thanks for any help! Jac

I don't see it in the parts diagram here :
OUTSIDE MIRRORS for 2007 Jaguar XK

There is an "interior mirror cover listed under the interior door trim :

MIRROR COVER for 2007 Jaguar XK|C2P10275

That interior piece is the plastic bit that holds the speaker. It does not appear to go through to the outside...still searching

Part appears to be C2P12000 for LH mirror.

Thanks. I think that part (that they call "mirror insulation") is just a gasket though?

The real piece is half circular hard plastic (not that those cartoon pictures are always accurate).

Agreed it is difficult to tell from the images on the JEPC and other websites.

Perhaps you can search for a used mirror as the price of a new one appears to be quite dear and must be painted to match the vehicle colour.

Call your local Jaguar dealer's parts department - they may be able to help.

You'll have better results by reposting in the X350 Forum for your 08 XJ. This is the X150 Forum for 2007-up XK/XKR models.

I am also missing that piece.

Anyone ever find a part number for it?

I'm guessing you have to buy the whole assembly.

They have to be configured to your car by your dealer so that the folding mirrors are recognized by the software. In other words, you have installed them but the car does not know that. The days are gone when you could just add or upgrade parts. Everything is now integrated into the system for a specific car. I am assuming that the wiring connectors mated properly - meaning that the main harness had a wire for the mirror-fold motor?
