I already have a 2008 XKR that a friend likes so much he's now looking to buy one too.

I think he wants a coupe rather than convertible and his budget puts him in the 2007 year range.

I'm always wary about first-years of new models... was there any specific issues to look out for with year 2007 XKRs? We're about to look at one for private sale.

Hi, you may need to change, battery, shocks and tires, if it has not been done. Look for the maintenance book.

 

I've had my 07 XK coup for 2 years now. It has 43,000miles on it and the only problem has been a failed (leaking) rt. ft. shock. Other than that it's dead reliable. Quite remarkable really.

 

Check for the leather on the dashboard coming unglued near the windshield.

These are very reliable cars, even from the first year of production.
