Donzi,

The first US model year for the alloy body XK/XKR (X150) was 2007, and it the chassis was mostly aluminum and used robotic construction. I will post a link to a video from Speedmakers for details.

Stuart

Will like to see the link Stuart.

I live in Canada where salt is used on the roads amongst other car unfriendly things. So, I had my car undercoated at perma shine with a wax coating. Although I don't drive my car in the winter I thought it would be a good idea. The undercoating people told me the chassis was steel and not aluminum. I don't place much confidence with them...they just spray the stuff on.

Default Canadian cars for use in USA

DGL, Norri, & other Canadians. Many years ago some people were buying cars in Canada [for use in the US] & having someone convert them to US speedometers. Was done to save some money, as it was cheaper than buying the identical car in the US. Is that a viable option now? I assume it is not, as you do not her about it now. thanks.

The tide has changed. It's much more economical for Canadians to buy in the USA than Canada. I bought my XKR 175 in the USA and transported in back. In fact all of my vehicles below have been imported from the USA, 2012 Volvo S80 from California, 2011 Infiniti G37 convertible from Florida, 2005 Chev 2500HD Silverado from Massachusetts. Canadian market sucks. Even with the Canadian $ at par with the US $ magazines are 40% more--I refuse to buy them. Aspirin is over 60% cheaper in the USA. A show was on TV talking about this a few months ago.
