Old Jaguar tune, is the way to go. Transform the my XKR. Instant throttle response and transmission eager to kick down a gear rather than the soft mellow response of the factory map. I just want to drive the XKR even more now.

With instant throttle response it makes the car feel lighter and nibble on its feet. The Old Jaguar tune Cambo should have came from the factory like this. The XKRS Xpipe is cherry on the cake. It’s a mature sound not annoying but brutal when you mash the throttle.

The mapping also opens the active exhaust at a lower RPM as well as recalibrate the traction controls to allow more slip rather than cutting the motor out completely when the traction control kicks in.

Best mod ever!!

tried to include some high-gear low-rpm cruising to encourage it to drone. the phone doesn't quite do justice for the burbles or for the awful drone, but you get the idea.
Sounds nice Jons.

Where can I go to get the "old jaguar tune"? I'm in North Carolina, USA. I don't know of anyone around here that can remap the ECU on a Jaguar.

It is very good, isn't it.

Any plans to take it to the next level and do the crank or supercharger pulley?

Bloody fantastic is a real understatement!! I'm more than happy with the stock pulley. The tune transform the car, it makes it feel lively and when driven spiritly it feels like a smaller car that what it is. The throttle response is on point now!! No more soft mushy throttle response!! The X-pipe was icing on the cake! I love how playful the car is now. the traction control allows for more slip without completely turning it off.

There is a sense of crispness and urgency in the throttle response, hard to describe unless you've ridden high power motorcycle. This is what the Old Jaguar tune feels like.

My XKR is a cruiser so its plenty of power and torque for the public roads and my driving style. I don't think I want more power as I wouldn't be able to use it on public roads. I have several fast motorcycle cycles that I do trackdays on so I don't need to do this with the Jag.

Old Jaguar tune is done in Sydney Australia. The only way I can see how it can be done for owners overseas is by sending ECU to get it tune. It would be abit of an effort but boy its worth it!!

Wait 'till you've got a TCM tune
Cameron should test it soon, it really transforms the car, good old 6hp shifts better and faster than 8hp, no more sludgy feeling between a accelerator pedal and wheels, no more 1-2 or 2-1 shocks, no more torque limiters in TCM and lots of other stuff Also a shift points can be optimized to allow a bit of engine overreving to improve 0-100 and 100-200 (kmh, im a metric guy) times.
Ah, not to menton that it's possible to enable/disable automatic upshift while in manual mode

it would be good if putting the transmission in sports that the exhaust valves open all the time. That way I can put back fuse 19!
I'll make a simple switch so I can manually control the opening/closing of the active exhaust valve.

The dynamic mode switch does that already.

I'm afraid the 4.2litre SC does not have dynamic mode switch.

Sorry, I didn't spot that you had a 4.2. The thread was originally about the 5 litre so I assumed yours was as well.

I fitted a switch to my 4.2 XKR and just ran wires under the rear seat squab to the rear of the centre console and put a switch inside the compartment under the arm rest.
