Well...The photo is a little sketchy, making it difficult to render an opinion. I can't tell if the wheel is color coded red, or is it some sort of reflection. If I could get a better look, I just might like them.

Still not a fan of big rims and rubber band tires... They toss in too hard an edge to the cars sensuous lines.

Would look good on a black car if the wheels were painted black too, keeping outer rim silver.

Not my style, but not a bad look.

Another owner who thought they could improve on the unique look and style of an XK with an after-market wheel that's available for a wide range of thoroughly common and forgetable vehicles. I just don't get it, but I bet they'd improve the look of many of those types of cars...particularly those sporty models from the 90's!

Color matched center piece wheels looks nice in general, but that particular wheel is too big for an XK and does not fitting IMO. Looks cheap, and that same thing could be done with an OEM offering and look fantastic.

Money is better spent doing a unique finish to an OEM wheel.

Default Refinished stock wheels

This is what I did with my wheels. Still stock, but customised.

Love them. Nothing better then huge wheels with small sidewall tires. It really dresses up the car, removing those ugly factory wheels is the first thing that must be done... Why would you want a car with factory wheels that look like every other XK(R) out there? Put some personality in your ride...

I used a product call Endura. Its a 2 part linear polyurethane as far as i know. It is used on planes boats and cement trucks. Very hard surface.
I dismantled each wheel being careful not to shear any of the bolts off as the car is from Ontario and the salt had made the bolts a little tight to get off.
I carefully tapped the spokes out from behind with a rubber mallet and marked each of the wheel parts so they went back into the respective rims when it came to reassembly.
I washed the spokes well with a degreaser and pressure washed them so they were really clean. I sanded the surfaces by hand with a fine paper to key them well for the primer.
Then my friend who does custom painting sprayed them for me. First a coat of primer and then flat black and lastly satin clear coat. This gave them the depth and the anthracite glow.
It cost me $250.00. That included the paint. Money well spent I say.
The chrome outer rings on the wheels were were not possible to remove without damaging them more than they were from the curbing they had received before I bought the car.
I purchased a plastic abrasive wheel, kinda like a wire brush but made of stiff plastic. I put the brush in a fast drill and brushed the chrome until it had a satin chrome finish. This detracted from the curbing scrapes and gave the finish that went well with the satin black spokes. I have very little chrome on my car so that was OK with me.
I then reassembled them being careful to get the right centers with the right rims, mainly in the event that they were balanced as a pair and used a compound on the bolts to prevent them corroding and torqued them evenly.
The whole process took me less than 4 hours.
Could not wait to get them on the car. So here they are.

Thanks for the info! I think they look great and much less expense than I thought! A fair amount of labor but no too bad. I have 20" Sensa wheels on my XR but they look a little different than your wheels...more small bolts I think. I wonder if they come apart like your wheels did?? It would be a good winter project for me when the snow flies.

Unrelated question.... I believe your car is an XR ? Did you add the jaguar to the mesh grill?? It looks great!

YES! Its an 05 XKR and I did add a leaper to the grille.
I bought it at Jaguar dealer. Its from an XJ or XF and it is is displayed on the rear of the car. I attached some small bolts to it with Epoxy and bolted it onto the grille.
I was not too sure if i liked it at first but I am getting used to it. Most of the comments i have heard have been positive so I will leave it there for now.
More pix of the cat in the link below my signature with my summer rims.

I have read others that say the wheels should never be taken apart and/or they are impossible to get the bolts out?? Mine look like a special socket is required. They kind of look like torx heads but have many more grooves. Since you did yours have you had any issues with balance or roundness? Thanks! I would love to do mine this winter while she's sitting out the snow!
