How tall are you, do you feel the XKR has enough leg room in drivers seat?
A few photos from my hookup on 2009 XKR.
Takes 2-3 minutes to hook up leads to battery.
>> Consider buying a CTEK 3300 trickle battery charger and hook up to the Jag permanently. It will be the best $52.00 bucks you have spent on your car. No more low or dead batteries. Just unplug and go, leave wire permanently hooked to battery.
Excellent advice - I did the same a while ago (altho a different brand of charger).
In case the picture wasn't clear - there are threaded studs on the battery terminals that you can connect the charger leads to.
Some notes:
- Despite the Owners Manual stating 'remove the battery for charging', this is not needed - unless you do a massive 'Booster Charge' which would generate large amounts of Gas....
- (This is Important) Be sure the Charger Lead is Fused ! Since its connected directly to the battery, if it shorted - things would get ugly....
A 5A or 7.5A fuse is probably sufficient for a trickle charger. Mine puts-out 3A at the most.
And try and get an insulated or covered 12V lead
- I store the coiled-up lead under the trunk floor. As Rich's photo shows it easily passes under the trunk weatherstrip.

You guys with the trickle charger, what kind of batteries do you have? I have an AGM battery and it seems like having an AGM battery would take care of all of the battery issues people seem to have.
6'2", 33-34" inseam...I could use a little more legroom and have it all the way back. I've seen some rubbing, and since I needed the legroom, I put some felt (the soft 1/2 of a velcro strip) on the plastic where the seat belt guide is on. It seems this is what was rubbing on the rear bulkhead, so I'm hoping this stops the wear.
Hi There - I just found this post and was curious if you would be so kind as to post picture of you inside your car? Im about to pull the trigger on an 08 XK and am unsure if i fit in it... but the drive is 4 hours one way - so im hoping i can just fit vs get it and be disappointed.
6' and drive with the seat back almost straight up and no problems. Incidentally you can change the steering wheel position up and down and in and out. small knob on left of the shaft. Get it set to your liking and then put it on auto and it will move out of your way when you open the door.
