I joined the club this past weekend!!
A 2008 XKR with a clean history and only 31k miles! 😮
At the garage at work. Had to go to the highest floor to find a spot away from other cars. But with elevators, who cares?
They've got an *** that would make many a girl jealous.
That radiant red is so beautiful in the shade!
Love it when the sun hits it!
Parked next to the original Jag on our level - a nicely appointed XJ with matching blacked out rims.
Bonus sunrise pic from our downtown apartment.
Flew out to Daytona Beach, FL bright and early Saturday morning. After a connecting flight, I got in around 1:30. We stopped by the bank on the way to the dealership so I could get the check cut, and I made it with only minutes to spare.
When I got to the dealership, there was my car, waiting for me Pristine, beautiful, well detailed. I knew immediately that I wanted it.
Still, I was prepared to be let down so I tried not to get my hopes up. Too many scratches inside or out and I would call the deal off and go with Plan B - a beautiful metallic flake midnight blue 2011 base with 55k miles.
Fortunately, the car was in exceptionally good shape.bo rips, tears, or wear on the inside, not even on the driver's seat.
I fell in love immediately.
I drove it back to Dallas over Sunday and Monday, passing 1,100+ miles and 4 state lines. My journey began in the middle of Tropical Storm Alberto, with 6 hours of torrential downpours on Saturday.through Florida and into Mississippi.
Through it all, I only had one issue - a check engine light came on for high fuel pressure I stopped by one of the only open auto parts places to have them diagnose it, and the guy who checked said he owned a 2004 at one point. He advised that unless I felt I was losing power, to continue driving With no other options as no car repair places or dealerships were open, I resigned myself to getting as far as possible and arranging trailer transport if necessary.
Fortunately, the light never came back, and I had no performance issues with the car It was a very pleasant experience the whole journey.
The best parts were the compliments from the valets at the Hiltons I stayed at, the wide-eyed "ooooh, that's a niiiice car" remark from the cashier at the fast food place, and the envious look from the Infiniti coupe driver as he pulled past me at a gas station.
As soon as I got back to town, after the final 6 hours of driving, before even going home to see my GF, I took it to get detailed; to clean the tar and bugs off
I'd like to get it into a shop soon to get the 30k or 40k mileage service done. So far, every time I look at it, it's the most beautiful object around. Parking in a garage full of BMWs, Mercedes, Audis and even another couple of XJs that's not easy. But there's *nothing g* in my downtown apartment or Uptown office garages that looks nearly as sleek and muscular as my XKR. I get knowing nods from other performance luxury drivers, and it's an amazing feeling. I've fallen so hard!

The sunroof works perfectly, stereo is great, everything is clean. I used the Bat info to negotiate a lower price, and the car is sweet!
