I owe Rosenthal Jaguar a big apology
I got around to visually inspecting the brake pads myself and dag nabbit, they were right all along. I do in fact need new pads and rotors and I am overwhelmed with contrition and remorse that their name was prematurely sullied and dragged through the mud.
Dear Rosenthal Jaguar, can you ever find it in your heart to forgive me?

Quaker, thanks so much for stepping up and admittig you were wrong.....It takes a big man to admit that they made a mistake.....Kudos to you my friend!
Norri - thanks for taking the time n trouble to copy this into the original post......good call!
I don't usually do this, but I will now. I was the person that inspected your car when you brought it in the first time with a blower motor concern, and I spoke with you. I was also the person that was standing in front of the service manager when you called about the brakes a few weeks later. Number (1) there is no need to apolgize. Number (2) I wont tell you that you need something when you don't. For example, I didn't think you needed a new blower motor originally, we just replaced the resistor at first. Then you came back and the motor then had to be replaced because it fried the new resistor. I'm not going to mention my name online, but if there are any future concerns with your 07 XKR, I will be more then happy to address those issues for you. I really do appreciate your post. It's not often that people do this. It's usually a negative post about how a dealership has done them wrong. Once again thank you.

If I can get in on this, While I don't consider it being a big man to admit their faults rather a humble man doing what is right. That comes with up bringing. Thank your parents and if you have children pass it on! Your mechanic also has claim to this as well.
I've never had any concern about the service at Rosenthal. Like the employee posted above, they won't tell you need work when you don't. They are exceptionally honest. When my 97 Vanden Plas started leaking at the head gasket, the technician told me just to monitor it rather than spend $$$$ to replace the gaskets. He figured the car could go another 30K without a problem (and he was right, and then some). I thought that was pretty honest, which is why I keep going back.
Thanks for sharing.
My car was just serviced this weekend by Rosenthal. I've only ever had a good experience with them. They're very accommodating (even to us lowly X-Type owners) and professional. Seems ironic to say it, but I actually look forward to heading out their way.
