Question If I'm replacing the supercharger isolator anyway...

...while I'm in there mucking about, should I just bite the bullet and do the snout rebuild at the same time?

Not asking anyone to vouch for this vendor, just adding this as a point of reference...
Amazon.com: A-Premium Supercharger Snout Rebuild Kit Compatible with Jaguar XF 2010-2015, XFR/XKR/XJ 2010-2013, XFR-S 2013, XKR-S 2012-2013 & Land Rover Range Rover/Range Rover Sport 2010-2013, 5.0L Supercharged : Automotive Amazon.com: A-Premium Supercharger Snout Rebuild Kit Compatible with Jaguar XF 2010-2015, XFR/XKR/XJ 2010-2013, XFR-S 2013, XKR-S 2012-2013 & Land Rover Range Rover/Range Rover Sport 2010-2013, 5.0L Supercharged : Automotive

Should I just do both jobs since I need to go through the hassle of draining & refilling the SC (where I've read that's a pain in the ****)?

And I guess a follow-up question... Is there any other failure point or general maintenance that I should perform at the same time while I have things torn apart with the SC?

Any important personal experiences or discoveries on this topic would be very welcome. Merci.

If you haven't done so already, replace the heater pipe at the back of the engine between the cylinder heads. It's a much simpler task whilst the supercharger is removed.

Cool. Exactly the kind of input I was looking for.

I've only had the car for around 6k miles and haven't replaced that part. Not sure if any previous owners did it, but I'll look to do it with the SC.

Appreciate it. 👍

"While you are in there" consider replacing/renewing the coolant pump and thermostat and maybe the spark plugs as well.
The coolant pump on these engines is notorious for leaking and I think JLR is up to version six or seven by now.
The spark plugs are a PITA to access at the best of times but are a lot easier with the SC off. They are due to be replaced at 100,000 miles and being NGK Iridiums they can last to 150,000 miles but if the car is anywhere near 100,000 miles you might as well do them "while you are in there".

Cool. Would you suggest OEM parts for the coolant pump and thermostat or are there aftermarket options that are better these days?

I'm around 60k miles so I might hold off on the plugs, but I appreciate the feedback. Thanks.

I'd stick with genuine or OEM parts only (Eurospare, Mahle, Elring, Behr, etc) cheap knockoff parts from other supplies tend to not fit correctly or last as long. Note you must discard the 3 metal gaskets (intercooler and 2 intake) and replace with new.
