Interesting observation on 5.0L oil cooler
this is nothing new, to aid quick warm up times the oil is firstly heated by the coolant, once up to temp the oil is cooled by the coolant, so it’s not just an oil cooler! Works well until failure fills the cooling system with oil! Like mine which is broken down miles from home on a weekend away! Recovery home tomorrow.
I have the same problem I think, gears were jumping then sudden overheating sign then steam .. when checked water tank was steaming out cream like liquid…
car still starts fine.
no creamy stuff in when checked the engine oil filler cap.
so, can it be just oil cooler with maybe faulty pump or oil cooler or both?
is the engine ok? Gearbox?
What’s the fix?
