iPhone
I am a new owner of a 2013 XK, how do I get my I phone to play music through the car stereo? My phone works for phone calls through blue tooth already. Unfortunately I did not get the owners manual with the car

You'll need an aftermarket adapter to play music from your phone via Bluetooth. See:

As an alternative to Bluetooth streaming music, I use an ancient iPod Nano 5th Generation as my dedicated music player. I did that in 2011 and it still works great. See:

Owner's Handbooks are available in the Sticky Threads at the top of this Forum.

Do you have the Apple dock? It would be located inside the centre console armrest. If you don't there's no way to do it without adding it to the car, if you do have it, then pug in your phone and select it as a source from the TSD.

I mean, ideally, there would/should be iPhone is a perfect music source device ... or some magical adapter module ... but, I think we are into the whole Apple Car Play threads and that's not plug-n-play!

WOW, great information!!! So, what are the steps to play music from an iPhone 11/12/13 to my Jaguar 2009 XK's "native factory sound system"?
Oh sorry, NOT my thread ... and, to the thread starter's 2013!

You just plug it in and play music….if you’re unfamiliar with Apple
devices you’ll need Apple’s genuine lightning adapter for the Apple dock. Once connected select Apple Music or any stored music on your phone. If you don’t yet have any , you’ll need to get some.

I found this attached PDF but not sure if someone else already posted this as I have bounced between various threads ... it really helped me understand.
I have a 2009 XK OTS and personally found this passage quite good
"You can simultaneously connect an iPod and a USB device to the portable audio interface and switch between them using the touch-screen. Select iPod or USB to switch between modes."

Do we use the iPod 30 pin or the USB dock connection?
OK, thanks jahummer, now we are cooking ... but, says only .2 meter in length, but my iPhone is vent mounted?
30 pin to lightening adapter plus a lightening extension cable as long as you need.
Thanks guys ... I found this on a different thread, but this is very exciting
Any comments on audio quality over BT versus a cable?
