My 2009 XKR continues to impress. It is a beautiful car, and no matter were I go in my city I always get compliments, and am asked "what is it?" Although it is a 2009, so many people think it is new. The car continues to marvel me with all the electronics, style, and of course being a Jaguar. I am the only one that I know of, that owns this rare 2009 XKR Portfolio Edition in my state of New Mexico. That alone makes feel elite. It is an awesome car, and once you get to fully understand how this premium automobile is built, it is easy to understand the pricing when new. So many people roll up next to me, and see the Jaguar name on the side vent, and usually provide a thumbs up. When they pull up in back of me, and see the Jaguar leaper badge on the rear lid, I have seen many motorists pull out their cell phones and take a photo of the rear end. The car has run flawlessly over the last 13 months of ownership. I am happy for that. Minor problems I find have been easily fixed by re-reading the owners manual. When I want the luxury ride, it's the Jaguar XKR that rolls out of the garage. It's a beautiful car either with or without the top down.

I'm fortunate enough to own Jaguars for nearly a decade. I have 3 of them right now. Still, never get tired looking at them. Every time I drive them I actually look forward to walking up to them, taking-in their beautiful designs, be that the sedans or the XK variations. At home I got every one of them under cover and often actually lift the covers just for moments of eye-candy. Beautiful cars, indeed, making us feel special in our ownership.

2014 marks forty years of driving Jaguars for me. I can't say enough positive things about them. My 2012 XK vert is the best of all of them in power, beauty, style, ergonomics, handling and pure driveability. There is something very special in the Jaguar DNA (ok I know the cars are not living things). They and it (the 12 xk) are something very special and I/we are privileged to own and drive it/them.

Got mine in Feb. of 2012, and I'm pretty much the same. I need to get spacers on the wheels to push them out a bit, but the car is just so bad *** looking regardless. What is most interesting to me is that when the car is dirty (its the "normal" black ebony color, so it shows everything) I don't notice nearly the same amount of attention. When its cleaned up and shining, people wave, take pictures, etc.
Maybe the most telling thing is that I read about cars online an awful lot, but have never been seriously tempted to move on from my XK. I'm not sure there is anything else out there that will check the boxes I want checked as well as it does. Even trading up to an XKR... for what I do, I'm not sure its worth the trouble, the XK is so good already.

It's been 2 months and 1400 miles (only did 2500 miles a year in my old Ferrari) since receiving my 2012 XKR. It is interesting how my fun car habits have changed. As I roll it out of the garage the top comes down and off we go. I have lost the fear of something going wrong (that day will come) and don't care if the weather turns to rain. A few days ago I had a golf tournament that was a little over an hour drive and I loved the ride as much as the golf. On the way home we had torrential rain but the car was just great even with the large tires. My bride loves it but not as much as our XKE but better then the XJS. I still am amazed at the power/torque of this car and hope to enjoy it for a long time. So enjoy the ride.

I've owned a Jaguar since 1998 - started with a 1999 XK8 coupe that I thought was the most beautiful car I had ever seen. I sold it in 2010 and bought a 2010 XK coupe. Both those cars' designs have stood the test of time and still look absolutely current in 2014 although the 2007-2014 XK line is a much better vehicle in every way. I love Jags and will always have one, but I don't really want more than one.

2 years 7 months... Just returned from a 1500 mile round trip to Northern California...
Driving up the twisty coastline I had to pat my dash and remind my son "I love this car".
Also officially off my 3yr/36k extended warranty as of this run... 77K miles and still solid as a rock.... Of note is that she is only my weekend driver!

But I live 5 minutes from work and park in a dusty gravel lot. Best to let the Civic take the abuse, and let Kitty nap in the garage.
She is always happy to come out and play on the weekends, or even weekdays if I have distance to cover!
Peace!

Had mine over a year now, and it's just great. Took it up to Silverstone for the grand prix last weekend, and had fun hustling it around the back lanes to bypass the queues & diversions. Every time I came back to our campsite, there it was, lurking like a beast ready to pounce. And I got a lot of positive comment from my fellow petrolheads.

My wife and I went 'camping' in one of my XJ-S's. On a whim we decided to go to Le Mans because the XJ220's were racing. Didn't really know anything about it or what to expect so just chucked a couple of sleeping bags in the car and headed to the ferry terminal for the boat to France.
I got caught speeding on the way there because I was racing a Lotus Esprit and whilst I was being processed the entourage of some of thethen presenters of Top Gear were pulled over as well.
When we got to Le Mans we obviously looked lost and one of the other spectators gave us the run down on where to buy tickets and the best place to camp.
As we hadn't really come prepared my wife slept curled up on the back seat of the XJ-S and I slept under the stars.
We went properly equipped the next time!

Not mine YET. But my uncle bought his 2009 XKR Portfolio since late 2008 since it first came available I believe. So about 6 years and 55,000+ miles on it and I always enjoy driving it!! It has never had a problem yet at all, not even anything wrong with the battery, he doesn't even use or own a battery tender! I just has it for this whole week and every where I go I see people stare at the car and give me compliments. Especially since I added LED Side lights a few days ago I have been getting even more compliments!! Sadly some people give dirty looks since they have no better thing to do but hate the fact that they are not driving this wonderful car! Maybe because I am just young (20) and in a beautiful car?

Damn, should have taken a photo. But here's one of my XK8 in the same place in 2012:
It rained quite a lot that year, and a lot of cars were getting stuck, so I had to do a bit of a Houdini to get out. Couldn't reverse up the hill without spinning the wheels, but could reverse across it. So I just got it rolling backwards, shot between two parked cars and across a boggy bit, and emerged onto the access road in a shower of small stones. That earned me a round of applause.
